Space Traveler 2315
The successful space traveler is an adventurous woman. She seeks exotic terrain and enjoys challenging gravity. Relying on common sense, Science, and her own strength, she makes the best choices even in the most unfamiliar of circumstances. Space Traveler 2315 visits Mars and makes plans for Pluto.

Beautiful to look at with a sense of danger. There are many depths to the folds. If you insist on disturbing it, there are consequences. Assembled and suspended origami representative of a wasps nest.

Dollhouse 2012
After leaving the east coast and moving to Denver Colorado in 2010 I rediscovered my dollhouse while unpacking. The dollhouse represents my childhood and my examining the reality of being an adult versus my expectations.
I use the dollhouse I received for Christmas in 1978 when I was four years old, a vintage Royal typewriter, and Robinson's 1970-71 wallpaper catalog.

Exploration of religion, art, technology, old and new, with direct inspiration from Japanese Calligraphy. The brush strokes cannot be corrected, and even a lack of confidence shows up in the work.

Patterned 2015
I use vintage sewing patterns collected from thrift stores and estate sales. I cut the women from the pattern packet and the picture is placed in context with language processing flashcards. I type their Individual captions on my 1968 Royal Custom II (red) typewriter. The flashcards have become part of a new context. The women represent myself or women I admire while their pattern origin represents others’ expectations.

Family Photos 1999
Disposable cameras were given to family members and they were asked to take self portraits. Tonal studies of the ‘inner voice’ were painted from the results.
